Trading in your Mac

Your old MacBook is still worth something, even if it no longer works. Here’s how a trade-in works, from your request through to payment, and what you need to know before sending us your Mac.

Submitting your request

We buy MacBooks, whether they work or not. Submit your request on the Sell my Mac page: choose the model, its condition and how you’d like to be paid (bank transfer or store voucher).

What you need to know

  • Describe your Mac carefully: model, working condition and cosmetic condition. If the Mac we receive doesn’t match the description, we’ll make you a revised offer, which you can accept or decline. If you decline, a €25 handling and return fee will be charged.
  • Valid ID belonging to the owner is required (this is a legal requirement when selling second-hand goods to a business). If we don’t receive it within 30 days, the device will be destroyed.
  • Unlock your Mac before sending it: turn off “Find My” and sign out of your iCloud account. A Mac that is locked with a password you haven’t provided, or that has been reported stolen, cannot be accepted.
  • Pack it carefully: the trade-in price is based on the condition of your Mac when it reaches us, and you are responsible for it while it’s in transit. A well-protected Mac gets the best offer.

All our trade-in conditions are set out in full in our trade-in terms and conditions.
